ABOUT THE ARTIST Nigel Kendall was born in England, but was brought up in New Zealand. In 1960 he returned to the UK with his parents and entered Bournemouth & Poole College of Art in 1962 to study art, graphic design and photography. Having qualified as a designer in 1965, Nigel moved to London and worked as an art editor within the quality magazine business. He successfully climbed the journalistic ladder until finally reaching the heights of editor-in-chief of a 250,000 circulation home interest magazine. But although he enjoyed the responsibility and challenge of magazine publishing, Nigel yearned to be his own boss and left London in 1983 to start his own design and copywriting business in northwest Surrey. Nigel now works as a freelance photographer, artist and book editor, working from his home near Cheddar in Somerset. In recent years he has been experimenting with different creative reproduction styles on images from his huge personal photographic archive, and now successfully exhibits and markets his own unique and collectable limited edition prints. |
